Celebrate Earth Day with Sun Ra

See that, way down there at the bottom? Sun Ra!

I wonder if, even though it’s Earth Day, he’ll still channel some “Space is the Place”:

In any case, Earth Day is an important occasion. Learn about its history here, and do visit Earth Day SF if you can.

P.S. Did you know Sun Ra’s birth name was Herman Poole Blount? Dope birth name!

Sun Ra was last seen on this planet 18 years ago.

Why is someone else using the name of the one and only master of time and space?

    that seems intentionally misleading

  4. Last week, I had the pleasure of removing several “green festival” fliers that had been attached to the sides of trees. Real, green trees. Methinks the scammers are moving in — be careful out there, people.

“Green” everything has been rife with scammage from the get-go. It comes with the territory.

Agreed. He’s dead — a long time ago. Whoring his name is shameful.

I once did get to see him wheeled out to perform in his Rascal. Kinda sad. But his band killed.

The Sun Ra Arkestra is currently led by the 80-something year old Marshall Allen, who played with Sun Ra from the early fifties until he left the planet. Do not hate on this beautiful man who is still leading a beautiful band.

This guy posing as Su Ra was an imposter, not even a real musician
