Earthquake weather

This is why we can’t have nice things. And by nice things, I mean nice weather (see yesterday). I don’t know if our fragile neighborhood can withstand any more earth-shaking developments, but I totally prefer this to tornadoes that eviscerate entire towns.

This woke me up out of sound sleep, and I had that “should I grab the earthquake backpack and the kitty and skeedaddle” moment that anyone who lived in Santa Cruz during the 1989 quake will know well. Weird–it wasn’t that big of a quake but it woke me right up!

the tree was knocked down several days before the earthquake. we can’t have nice things because people suck.
