Which Mission bars are showing the Olympics on TV?

I love the Olympics. They’re campy and absurd, and they’re a glimpse into the superhuman race breeding amongst us. Synchronized swimming or rhythmic gymnastics, anyone? What about that one that involves running, swimming, fencing, riding a horse, and shooting a gun? I call that one “Survival”.

The London 2012 Olympics start this Friday. So which local bars can we watch them in? Tell me, and I’ll compile a list. Ready, set, go! USA!

Someone needs to throw an Olympic party. You can come dressed as an athlete from your favorite event, or just draped in the flag from your favorite country.

This was very servicey. Thanks! I love the Olympics, too. Even random sports I have no previous enthusiasm for somehow become suddenly interesting.

I’ve been calling around to see who’s showing the US women’s soccer games which start Wednesday morning. Most games are at 8:30/9:00am. Saddly , the regular joints for soccer like the Pheonix are not opening up early. But, I called the Pork Store on 16th and they agreed to show it.

During the World Cup, when games tended to run during the early morning hours (our time), every day when I walked past Taqueria Los Coyotes (16th & that ugly-ass alley), they were blasting the soccer.

The Irish bar in Noe Valley generally opens early enough to watch Europe soccer games, and Pissed off Pete’s on Mission a few blocks after Silver will definitely do it, but you have to get out there, A WHOLE MILE.

Enh. We probably won’t. If you don’t want to watch the olympics, you can come by and watch giants games or shitty movies.

Rock Bar on 29th Street will play the Olympics! Their TV is generally reserved for Giants games however a conversation with bartender last night confirmed they will tune into the Olympics! p.s their jukebox rules! aQuarius Records selections! Flower Travellin Band and Summer Olympics two of my favorite things!
