UK Bans American Apparel Ad (NSFW)

american apparel banned uk vice ad nsfw

Because it “could be seen to sexualise a model who appeared to be a child.” American Apparel argues that the model is 23.

I know a girl who turns 23 tomorrow; she does not appear to be a child.

Poor American Apparel.

america is terrible. it makes me sad. i’ll never hold a young woman that fresh again.

The American Apparel ads remnd me of that creepy scene in the movie “Fame” When that girl (Irene something?) is auditioning for a “part” and some creepy guy makes her take off her clothes and she ends up in tears.

I completely agree with the UK banning this ad. I would never ever buy anything from American Apparel because of their repulsive pedophellic ad campaigns. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that all of his models “look” like children being sexualized. The owner of American Apparel is so bloody creepy!!!! It’s really too bad, because his initial ideas about the way he would like to run his business were very admirable.

I don’t get it, how does this model look like a little girl?

Is your opinion like the recent Australian ban on naked women with small breats because small breasts are somehow “childish”? kinda lame.

Sure… school girl fetish weird shit, I get that. But a early 20-something in a hoodie? what?

  5. bill says:

If the female in this ad was 18 yrs old, with big breasts, and a face full of makeup, instead of 23 looking like “Plain Jane”, the UK would have no problem at all with it. See Page 3.

    Pfff
I can’t say I have ever encountered any ‘children’ who look like that. I have though come across many adult women who look like that (hmm, maybe because this IS an adult woman?)

    adult woman ≠ child
not being a cookie-cutter buxom babe ≠ child porn

    C’mon UK, getcha lolitas straight.

Are you people kidding me? Hell they show a girls tits on a mag and omg all hell is breaking loose. Yet there is tits on tv in the uk…? Hell, i see more nudity in high schools and colleges then i do here. All they are doing is being honest. Its only the moms that are complaining. The kids are wearing it. Now you can say that this is to blame why we have 19 year olds in college with just a hoody and high heels on with nothing under neath. But before AA even started making mags like this there were GIRLs as in 13 and 14 year old that would come with just a t on. Come on guys the world is changing stop crying and just except that the world will never be all roses and weed like it was. Yeah I know all about the 60 – 90.
