First Completely Superficial Review of Grub

The always astute generic_ is not impressed:

What do you say we just call it Food and be done with it? We can open it up right next to where Restaurant used to be.

Read the rest of the smackdown. Grub just popped up on Valencia and 18th.

It it just me or has this restaurant been under construction for years? Same story with the newly opened Zaytoon – they had their sign up for many many months before finally opening.

Under construction now for exactly 3 years. No joke.
They come in once every 3 days and put in one nail. It’s an eyesore.

After a year-long hiatus they are actually making progress here. I peaked in and it looked like they interior was nearly complete. Also there was a line of wine bottles on the counter — which indicates that they are close enough to opening to be focusing on the wine list (or that the workmen went on a high-end bender).
