From my inbox:
We’re gonna be opening a great sandwich salad joint using all the organic, local good stuff on the 22nd.

Can’t wait!
My new favorite cookie is the Toffee Chip Cookie at Anthony’s Cookies. I forgot to take a picture because I was busy shoving it into my mouth.
Update: Johnny0 has pictures.

Well, for everyone that was ever bummed that the Onion never put any of its local content online, now is the time to rejoice. Decider Bay Area launched this week, and today my first feature is up. It’s a Q&A with Toronado proprietor Dave “Big Daddy” Keene. In it, Dave gives us the scoop on Duvel Draft and the all-new lower-alcohol Saison Dupont, and the real story behind his first Belgian. Big thanks to Jesse for the photo, too. Link.

Last night, my friend Branden hipped me to his favorite trick. Taqueria Guadalajara has a dinner plate called something Alambres. It includes a mass of grilled peppers, steak and bacon, along with rice beans and other fixings.
Branden discovered you can ask to have it all rolled up in a burrito. Same price, wholly different experience.
Anybody else have any off-menu favorites?

Last night I stopped in at Receiver Gallery for a sneak peek at their upcoming Porous Walker show (more on that later), but I also got a sneak peek at (and taste of) the cookies from Anthony’s Cookies, our soon-to-open new neighborhood cookie shop.
The Cookies and Cream Cookie, seen here in the foreground, was, as gallery runner Steven noted, “very meta.”
Complete cookie menu here. I can’t wait for this place to open.
Amuse-Bouche Stand owner-operator Murat got in touch to tell us:
Hi !

Hope the wind will not blow as hard as today…
See ya
Link. Thanks, Murat!
My new favorite thing.
I mean, maybe it had something to do with that you were to dip your PULLED-LAMB SANDWICH ON BRIOCHE into it. But I think it’d be solid on its own, too. Or with other stuff, like lettuce. Or avocado. Or ice cream.
Thanks, Mission Street Food!
Got an intriguing IM from reader mcas just now:
so… i just got a tour of the back space of dynamo– its more than just a counter… once they get permits– there is a gorgeous indoor area with bar and copper + wood design.. and an outdoor patio with tons of light…
Where those permits at?
Update: “..they are intending to add bike parking in the garden, as well”
