It’s _nave,_ not knave.
The church is the former Golden Gate Lutheran Church. It closed several years ago when the congregation couldn’t afford to meet the city’s earthquake retrofit requirements for masonry buildings.
No dude, there is an honest-to-goodness man of humble birth in there. Believe.
I’m thinking about turning my home into a church to get tax credits to pay for my retrofitting.

For a building which used to be a house of worship, the remodel makes the space look soulless.

I used to practice Tai Chi at that church! It’s a block from my apartment and I’m sad that it can’t be the Lutheran Church anymore. They offered many services there for the homeless, and the addicted, and the hungry, and for the poor. They are missed.
