From 1954 to 1974 Lakeside Liquors was a little mom and pop shop at 2188 Mission Street. Local photographer Dave Glass/Dizzy Atmosphere grew up with the store as his actual mom and pop’s shop. He recently shared a shot of the exterior and surrounding Mission Street apparently taken in 1984.

Actually that after picture isn’t “as the street looks nowadays”, it’s at least a year old. That nasty chinese food place a few doors down has been closed for a while and is Southpaw now.
You’re right, Google Streetview can’t keep up with this neighborhood’s rate of change. I amended the post.
1984? Why is nearly everything in the frame circa 1950′s?
I thought the same thing until I looked at the photo on the Flickr page. There is a car in the right lane driving towards the photographer that appears to be from the 70s or 80s, though.
Not to mention 7UP, flyers taped to the light poll, and chewing gum smashed into the sidewalk
