Wow, awesome cut and paste job! You rule at stealing intellectual property.

Seriously, I don’t even think this applies as parody. It’s just theft. And lazy theft too. Why don’t you fucking make something original?

The website clearly says “Thanks to Matt Groening and the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) District.”

There is no denying, or trying to hide the sources here. Lazy? Sure, but it serves a purpose. Putting Bart Simpson on the BART logo is clever. Bart is also holding a paintbrush – the “B” in the BART logo is obscured – revealing the word “ART”. The shirt is even called (B)ART. The only way to make this look like it is a real logo is to use the real thing(s). I say bravo!

The “Black Fax” shirt is also the most clever reiteration of that logo that I have ever seen.

Yay! They credited them while stealing their shit. Look, I if you want to make this out to be some kind of Dadaist work of genius that’s fine. But it’s really not cleaver enough to be worth the two seconds spent pasting it together.

I would argue that it WAS clever enough – and only taking two seconds out of your day to make this means more time for NEGATIVE BITCHING ON BLOGS!

    • DJM says:

Are you saying that the shirt-maker copied and pasted the images that the shirts are based on, and PS’d it all together? ‘Cause that’s the only leg your argument has to stand on.

    Simpsons did it.

Er, I mean Oaklandish did it: http://oaklandish.com/youth-bart-white.html

That’s pretty rad. I dig it.

In an oddball way this also continues the legacy of the Bootleg Bart shirts from the 90′s (not black Bart per se, but the general idea).
