Tamale Lady, the restaurant, coming soon for real!

It took a lot of political willpower, apparently, but it’s happening! Mission Local reports:

Nate Albee, legislative aide to Supervisor David Campos, confirmed the details to Mission Local Monday.

“It will be her very own place,” Albee says. “We pulled out all the stops, and it took six months, but we found a place.”

Campos told us about the 16th and Mission location in a text message last week, which Albee says was going to be a secret until they signed the lease and had a press conference likely in January. “He was not supposed to tell anyone that,” Albee sighed. “Oh, David.”

And it looks like they’ll have beer! Might never have to go to Zeitgeist again! (Just kidding.) Read on for lots more info.

Drink of the Week: The Bad Santa

It’s a bourbon drink, with cranberry syrup and “a bit of Christmas tree.”

Help expand Wholesome Bakery, San Francisco’s premiere bakery for those with dietary restrictions and food allergies

Wholesome Bakery rules, and there’s a little over 24 hours left in their campaign to raise capital for some expansion plans! You will want to watch the video, as it involves superheroism and a fluffy little dog with a cone on its head:

Now, check out the perks you can get by helping them grow.

Did Delfina’s Craig Stoll end poverty?

From Modern Luxury’s San Francisco Magazine profile on the history of the Delfina empire:

If Delfina played a role in the fancification of the Mission, what do you miss most about the good ole days?

Craig: Don’t get me started on the word gentrification. I don’t miss anything about the good ole days. I don’t miss crime and squalor.

I wonder if Craig thinks that he solved the underlying problems that lead to crime and squalor, or if he’s content with being a force that shifted it into someone else’s neighborhood.

I lived at 18th and Dolores through much of the nineties and 18th and Guerrero for much of the two thousands, and I’m not sure he did much more than open some high end restaurants.

Do-it-yourself Zante’s Indian pizza

Easy peasy!

I bet you’ve always wanted to eat a bowl of gourmet ramen at the bar at Clooney’s

Well, Chef Eric of Seoul Patch has you covered:

As many know, I’ve been working on my ramen for a a while now. For the latter of the past 3 years, it has just been a side thing, but for the past year, I’ve really been honing in, on my game.

To kick off the Autumn weather, and the shorter day’s, I’ll be serving Sapporo style miso ramen. It is going to be warm, thick, hearty, and straight up. Not messing around with this one.

There will only be one bowl on the menu, but The Galley SF, will also have their offerings, as well!

Miso Ramen$15

-burnt scallion
-charsiu de coppa

This party runs 5pm to midnight, or until the 35 servings are gone, so get there early! RSVP and invite your friends!

Chino, the Mission’s first posh dumpling and noodle house

SFist reports:

Noted Mission eatery Andalu will close out a 12-year run on the corner of 16th and Guerrero at the end of the year, Inside Scoop reports. Taking its place will be a new Chinese dumpling and noodle joint called Chino, from the guys who brought you Bar Agricole and taco mini-chain Tacolicious.

No more Andalu! Read on.
