Identity Crisis?

Identity Crisis?
It seems that over the weekend the Metro PCS store on Mission near 20th reverted back to its previous name. One wonders if “Joseph’s” will be able to provide me with a nice flat rate on one of those mobile phones everyone seems to have these days.

When asked for comment, the giant inflated cell phone out front just shrugged and shifted nervously from side to side.

Here’s the sign as it was:

Full Moon Mission

The Moon, Waxing

Well, we had another full moon last night. As we’ve talked about before things can get a little hectic out there. Add the bridge closure and all night BART, and you’ve got a handful of a weekend.

Two people shot at 16th and Julian.

Man kicking and punching woman at 17th and Mission.

I’d like to think I could summon up some Hard Harry wisdom at this point, that would make someone think twice before doing something stupid. But I can’t.

Be careful out there, people. Eat your cereal with a fork and do your homework in the dark.

Well, that one didn’t really work.

(Oh, sorry, one last thing: the above photo actually shows the moon from the other night, you know, when everyone was posting pics of the goddamn sky. So, not the real full moon)

UPDATE: As expected, Mission Loc@l tells a much fuller story of last night’s shooting.

Ahh, Neighbors.

Ahh, Neighbors
Anybody got any good neighbor stories?

Pie Fridays At The Rite Spot

I got an e-mail today from Sunde of The Rite Spot at 17th and Folsom. She used to make amazing pies there every Friday (“Pie Friday”), but ended up stopping. As a great lover of pie (incredible lover, really) I feel like I need to share this new information with the world. Pie Fridays are back.

Hi everybody!
There’s been so much demand for Pie Fridays that I thought I would start doing it once month so at least you get a chance to have your pie fix. I’m going to have Pie Fridays every second Friday of the month.

So the first official relaunch of Pie Fridays will be Sept. 11th…a sad day for our nation but a day to rejoice for pie lovers of San Francisco.

xoxo

More Burger Talk

Kevin and Allen Scarfing Vegan Burgers

I know Kevin already posted about this, but I had to chime in for the meat eaters. My environmentally unsound beef burger was also amazingly delicious. The salty, greasy juiciness of the thing was astounding. I kind of think if I ate more than one a week my health would go south pretty fast. But for a Sunday at noon, it was great.

My burger is the one at the bottom of the frame. Kevin and Allan’s are vegan.

With All The Talk About Cults . . .

Spooky Window

I’m starting to get spooked by everything.

I’ll just assume that behind this window is a meeting of the Bishops of the Flying Triad. Or maybe the Ancient Order of the Triangle Birds?

No wait! The Bilderbird Group!

Update: Fine. It’s not a cult. It’s a shop. That looks like it does cool stuff. But the jury’s still deliberating on that Gratitude place.
