No Age are responsible for two of our favorite Noise Pop memories of all time (a public service announcement regarding the Foo Fighters and lameness and a panel discussion about album art that included a cool picture of David Letterman), so we’re thrilled and honored to be co-presenting their Noise Pop 2014 appearance next month at Bottom of the Hill.
You may RSVP and invite your friends on Facebook, and tickets are on sale now, though we’ll be giving away a pair in the coming weeks, so be on the lookout for that. And we’ll be taking a look at the rest of the bill too, so be on the lookout for that.
And be sure to check out the rest of the Noise Pop 2014 lineup, which includes a Mikal Cronin show at the Chapel and another No Age show at Brick & Mortar.
I made the poster; what do you think?
Third Eye Blind, Incubus, and then Eagle Eye Cherry. Well played, Philz Coffee.

This is a still from a short film by Abby Ayckbourn. Watch and listen here.
I saw Cocktails open for Mikal Cronin last night at Rickshaw Stop’s 10th anniversary party they RULED, and tonight at 6pm they’re playing a free show at the Converse Store downtown!
Here’s their latest single:
Rickshaw Stop‘s weeklong 10th anniversary bash kicked off last night with a rip-roaring show by the Spits. The drummer was a definite highlight, as usual.
The festivities continue tonight with Mikal Cronin, Cool Ghouls, and Cocktails! And tickets are almost gone! Get ‘em here! (Geographer and YACHT are totally sold out already, so better get on that Craigslist.)
Last week it was reported that John Dwyer of Thee Oh Sees is leaving San Francisco (for LA) because he’s “over” the Mission. Bummer, but, it happens, and life goes on. I’m sure he’ll do great things in LA and I’m sure he’ll be back in SF a lot, but check out this ancient Terminal Boredom interview in which then-future Oh See Lars Finberg grills Dwyer about his then-new album “The Master’s Bedroom Is Worth Spending A Night In,” and lots more:
Lars: Can you talk about living in San Fransisco? It’s one of my favorite cites to imagine moving to, am I wrong? What’s your favorite thing about it? What’s the worst? Do you think you’ll stay forever?
John: SF is the best, I love it and everytime I leave I come back refreshed. I may die here, I guess. Tacos, beach, bikes, hot girls. Movies. Parks. A good home with good friends. What more can I say? Oh yeah, good people to write songs with. Home base. The worst: a bad taco or burrito. Hard to come by, but man when you do…look out.
Read on for the lots more.

Though it’s not even a year old, The Chapel is the lone Mission venue (even including the honorable mentions) in SFist‘s list of the top 10 music venues in SF. Here’s why:
Valencia Street’s newest music venue has a lot of soul for a newcomer. The beautifully revived church-like 1914 building is the official West Coast home of New Orleans’ legendary Preservation Hall Jazz Band, so naturally the music lineup leans towards the soulful and folky side. The rest is rounded out with local acts graduating from Mission District dive bars and national touring acts that play to the Valencia Street sensibilities.
