How to Repel a Rapist

Ramona has a new technique:

Lately, when I’m walking somewhere alone at night, and I get a little nervous, I’ve taken to walking really fast and glancing at my watch a lot.

It probably works. If you’re in a hurry, someone’s probably expecting you, so you’re more likely to be missed, and a posse is more likely to be formed. Anyway, read on.

Bionic Boy

This is a still from Jordan’s Hand, a new film by David Enos and Mishell Stimson. Watch it if you love San Francisco, acting, news reports, British accents, fashion or prosthesis.

Swomp Thang

This is by far, in the three plus years I’ve been doing this, the piece of street art I’ve been most thrilled to post.

Meet SWOMP THANG, a modern monster with modern problems and modern sensibilities.

Toilet Humor

Hey, Lucifer is responsible for this picture. Of a toilet at the Lex. That wants you to sit on its face.

Saffron and Mercury

Happy Friday, guys and dolls! Should you require a new pet this weekend, consider these!

Saffron — 1 year old female terrier mix

Playtime!  Saffron is a sweet and charming little girl, ready to explore the world around here, chase some shadows, and be your best friend.  She’s young and spirited, and enjoys the finer things in life – rolling in the grass, chasing tennis balls, allowing you to scratch her adorable doggy belly…you, the good stuff.  If you’ve been thinking this summer is a great time to add a companion to your life, check this gal out ASAP!

Mercury — 4 year old male shorthair

What a pretty kitty! Mercury can be quiet and shy but he gets along with other cats (a slow introduction will be best), and will be a playful, friendly love bug once he gets to know you a bit better. His nicked left ear makes him even more unique!

All pets adopted from SFSPCA have received a pre-adoption veterinary exam and behavior assessment, vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery and a microchip.

Charter Buses in the Bike Lane

Perhaps Andrew spoke a little too soon when he said cyclists rule the streets.

19-Year-Old Muni Fast Pass

Somebody used this to get to Nirvana’s big show at the Warfield. Think about that.

It definitely looks just like some OP board shorts I had back then.

Biographical Info:

"I joked that living in the Mission would be the end of me. And there were nights where it felt like the case.

One night I went out with my friend Allan to the bar that no one goes to on 16th Street, where I lost half my drink and money on the dance floor. Later we skated down 16th to Evelyn Lee, where I fell off my board and landed on my head as the 22 bus sped past behind me. A sobering moment. At the bar, I sulked and nursed my wounds until Allan put on Amy Winehouse’s 'Valerie.' We danced, he dipped me, and I felt better."
