This video by Azeem is killer. It features a version of Mission Street rendered in a kind of animated collage. Azeem strolls up and down, past a Count Chocula tag, Heather Fong, Pancho Villa and Giant Value, before finishing up with an epic climax atop the New Mission Theater marquee. And you can watch it in HD. (Thanks, Laura and Jessica!)

Seriously, this is such a solid Ribity, whatever business takes over this decrepit old theater when the block goes upmarket must retain it as its official marquee. Hereby decreed.

Max over at 4Q Conditioning today published a remembrance of San Francisco’s own Mr. Ben Davis, including this shot of the mustachioed signage outside the Arik’s at the corner of Mission and Valencia. Max begins:
black bens, grey bens, dark green bens,
cut-off bens for shorts….
part of the costume for many years.
Link. Taker easy, Ben!
Geoffrey Ellis last night was live on the scene for the aftermath of last night’s drive-by shooting:
Here is a photo I took last night after the shooting at 19th and Capp. I live a few houses down from the corner. There were 2 shots fired from a car. The cops said one guy was shot in the leg and another was shot in the back. The Examiner says it was at 18th and Capp but they are wrong. Trust me… Maybe that is why traditional media is dying. Thanks for getting it right.

Yet another gem by juicyrai. Click pic to view it large, because it looks even better large.

According to 52 Books, Cooking With Fernet Branca is a satire full of “comedic tension and horrid recipes.” Link (via radio del transistor).
But can you actually cook with the stuff?
