Would-be rapists on the loose in their kidnappin’ truck

Mission Local reports:

A 22-year-old woman was kidnapped Sunday evening at 18th and Lexington streets and then fought off a rape attempt, escaped and called police, according to the SFPD.

Police Officer Abie Esparza said they learned of the crime from the San Mateo county hospital where the victim was treated.

The woman told officials that she was kidnapped Sunday at 5 p.m. by two men armed with knives.

They forced her into a green Toyota truck and headed south on Highway 101 driving over the county line into San Mateo.

Albino Bianchi stolen last night

MM reader Brooks H. just got finished helping with all the neat Shop for Japan stuff to help raise money for tsunami victims when he rudely discovered that karma isn’t always cut and dry:

After raising ten grand for japan, my beautiful all white bianchi  got stolen. One AM last night at 17th and mission they clipped my lock. There’s not another bike around here like it.

Let’s all do Brooks a favor and keep an eye out for this exotic bicycle.  These things are rare!

Stolen green Rivendell bike

Jordan misplaced his bike on Wednesday. And by misplaced, I mean “misplaced” into the greasy hands of a no-good thief somewhere in the Mission. It was stolen is what I’m saying.

Anyway, he wants it back and was hoping to get the word out:

My incredible Rivendell Atlantis was stolen from me in the mission district on Wednesday. It has a distinct look, especially with the large saddlebag and matching front rack bag I had on it.

This bike has sentimental value to me as a gift from my now-departed grandmother. I have proof of ownership and know the serial number. There is a $200 reward for finding the bike if I’m able to get it back. Any advice on how I might track it down is greatly appreciated as well.

We’ve all been there, and it stinks. Give us a shout if you’ve seen it or know anything, and we’ll put you in touch with Jordan.

Clarification: Local blogger did NOT cut in line at phở riot

New facts have come to light that contradict my earlier report about last night’s phở riot.

Andrew in fact was waiting patiently in line and DID NOT use his blogger cred to cut it for a coveted bowl of snail phở. He would never do such a thing, and neither would I. (Vic probably would though.) Andrew did however end up in the hospital with a serious shoulder injury after a swarm of Guardian Angels tackled and beat him for failing to remove his hat in the presence of a lady.

Thieves in a little black Honda robbing Missionites at gunpoint

Law and Disorder reports:

Police have yet to say if the crimes were related, but the two robberies bear similarities. In the first incident, two Hispanic males in their mid-20s allegedly drove up to two victims near 20th and Guerrero streets at 2:27 a.m., demanding money at gunpoint, according to the San Francisco Police Department. The victims fled from the scene before their armed assailants could take anything.

Six minutes later, a 39-year-old woman was confronted by two armed men—both allegedly Hispanic males in their mid-20s—at 22nd and Dolores streets. This time, the thieves made off with the victim’s wallet, laptop, cell phone and iPad, police said.

Watch your backs tonight. Read on.

Hit-and-run epidemic plaguing the Mission and surrounding neighborhoods?

We mentioned this one hit and run the other day, and then people started chiming in:

What gives? Supermoon? Earthquake madness? ‘Tis the season?
