Ambulance was there. Cycle was on the ground. Bro cyclist was rushing through traffic to get to the scene and photograph it.
I’d've stuck around but I was trying to catch the sunset from atop Bernal Hill.

It goes on from there. And it begins:
It would be very helpful and informative if you would take the time to complete the Citizens Satisfaction Surveybelow. Your opinion and comments on the service you received will help identify areas of performance whichneed improvement and those that are satisfactory or superior. Please return your completed survey at yourearliest convenience by mailing to or dropping off at Mission Police Station, 630 Valencia Street, San Francisco,CA 94110. It is our goal to continuously provide the highest level of service possible and to utilize all of theresources at our disposal to prevent crimes and arrest those responsible for committing them.
“All of the resources at our disposal.” I guess that includes brave and capable volunteers.
I’ll paste the full text after the jump, or you can view it as a Google Doc here.
Better watch your ass, Mission District! According to CBS San Francisco, the Guardian Angels are coming out in force to help put an end to gang violence once and for all:
In an official statement, the Angels have said they’re working with police and are prepared to make citizen’s arrests when they see someone breaking the law.
Hey, remember when they called Vic a pussy in a comment thread? I wonder if they were “working with police” on that effort too. And when they poured out some perfectly good beers? That was cool. Better not let ‘em see you jaywalk.
This just in from reader Patrick:
getting money out of the ATM at US Bank on 22nd + Mission.
detective double parks some lady in and says “it might be awhile, we got a bank robbery.” sign on the door said “temporarily closed”.
Keep an eye out for people in masks carrying large sacks with “$” printed on them.
Tipster Todd of Telstar Logistics knows not very much:
A friend just texted to say the Feds are raiding a home on Bryant, between 22nd and 23rd. No more info.
What’s crackin’? Imma go take a look.
UPDATE: I didn’t see nothin’.
Our buddy Zoë Banks saw a dick this morning:
Some guy just exposed himself to me at 18th & Capp and all I thought was “Wait, it’s not Bay to Breakers yet”. SF is nuts! There are so many dick sightings in this city, they’ve lost all meaning.
Sad! Also, gross! Also, heinous!
Previously:
I used to only see these guys in the park, but just now I left the house for like 30 minutes and saw three just cruising around the neighborhood.
UPDATE: TK makes a good point in the comments. With potholes like these floating around, you best be on a dirt bike.
A choice quote from some Mission Local coverage of a recent fatal shooting in the Mission:
“There’s a lot of gang banging, a lot of prostitution,” said one law enforcement official who asked not to be identified. “I’m not surprised that violence has popped up there. And then you have the hipsters coming around to the nightspots. There’s a lot of people looking for drugs, so that all works well together. It makes for a thriving community.”
