Drunk Cyclist is my all-time favorite blog because of shit like this (sorry, Allan).

Use Your Car As a Weapon, Get Beat Up By a Banana

IMG_0941

The Halloween Critical Mass ride is always one of my favorite events of the year because I inevitably get to watch 3 bananas savage some aggro dude in an SUV.

ARTCRANK Tonight

This event is not in the Mission but I kinda like the poster so I’m posting it up anyways.  From some reason they made it absurdly difficult to find out what the hours of the event are (via the “you’re not good enough for bike culture” meme), but rumor has it that it is going on from 7-11pm.

TCB: The Motion Picture

I know I’ve already gushed about TCB Courier, but their new commercial is killer.  Fixies, grabbing a pizza box while riding, diving into Bender’s to deliver said pizza and the whole production is topped off with some badass metal music.

Cycle Swap at Sports Basement This Weekend

Screen shot 2009-10-15 at 9.22.17 AM

I know the flyer is a little wordy but the skinny is this: this Sunday afternoon, you can go hang out with bike people and trade your stuff for better stuff/paper in the Sports Basement basement.  Even if you don’t have anything to buy or sell, they’ll be doing bike maintenance classes and everyone should know how to fix a flat, so be sure to make your way out there.

TCB Courier Unveils Service Area Map and Pricing

I’m pretty upset that they will not deliver to my yacht parked in the middle of the Bay, but this is still pretty sweet:

tcb_map

Regarding the map (warning: PDF):

we will deliver to you if you’re even remotely close to the zone..  this is just to discourage 3am deliveries to the zoo

but we will do it . if someone wants to pay

Who wants to go halfsies on an order of Zante’s delivered to the grizzly bear enclosure?

BART Station Agents Enforcing Bikes on BART Rules?

Reader Chris sends us this note:

Did anyone else encounter the BART station ticket agents enforcing the no bikes on the East Bay bound lines this morning?  The ticket agent at 16th and Mission was posted up at the bike gate asking everyone with a bike which direction they were headed.  I understand the rules regarding bikes on BART, but this is the first time I actually saw a station agent in the Mission enforcing them.

Annoying, at best.  I’m sure there is a legitimate reason as to why they have not done this, but why don’t they dedicate one car during peak hours to be a bike car?

The Mission Finally Has Late-Night Bike Delivery: TCB Courier Service

TCB_courier_service

This is genius:

We’ve just started the missions first late night delivery service. We deliver pretty much anything you need.. Want a burrito and its 1145 and your drunk at the bar.. call us.. Need two gallons of milk, some rubber gloves and a dental damn… call us..

This is the brain child of two messengers that got sick and tired of sitting around downtown on standby all day, and decided to make something happen. There is late night delivery in NYC, Boston, Philly, and tons of other city’s, SF needs to get some.

And the reviews are in:

i was the first customer! we used TCB to pick up and deliver a pizza from a place that won’t deliver. A great idea, and I’m stoked that it’s Chas.

Ye333eeessss broooooh

Full disclosure: I don’t know Chas personally (one of the service’s proprietors), but he and his friend crushed the Mission Mission Alleycat yesterday, beating out the next finisher by 29 minutes.  Boy can ride a bike.

Manu from SF Vegan Tamales recently shot this cool tandem-cycling vid around the city.  Nice to watch any day, great to watch if you are feeling emo.
