Axis of Evil Watch: Coffee Bar Censors Internet

coffee_bar_censoring

Obviously, we here at Mission Mission only believe there is a slight chance the owners of Coffee Bar are aiding the Iranian government with their struggles to censor and oppress the populace.  That said, if they are aiding them, they are not trying very hard to conceal it.

Update: Luigi, co-owner of Coffee Bar, gives us this update:

“I spoke with our network administrator earlier and he mentioned that he had caught some people a few months back using our wi-fi (from outside of the cafe) to download porn, which was also jamming up the network for our customers big time. I guess he overshot the security settings a tad and said he would scale back on the settings to allow a larger amount of browsing freedom.”

(Link – Photo and report by le):

“At Coffee Bar in San Francisco, where I often go to work and study, I am blocked from visiting my own website! This is new – it wasn’t this way last week, even. I am honored that someone feels that my site is too much for these laptop zombies in designer denim to take.”

All I have to say is that I wouldn’t want to smoke any DMT prior to looking at that thing.

Let's Get Stoned and Go to Mission Street Food

funyuns

Actually, this Saturday night (tomorrow), they’re going by Mission Stoned Food, and the menu, by guest chef Chris Ying, does something heretofore unprecedented in modern Mission cuisine — it brings together foie and Funyun.

It does lots more too. I personally plan to get as loaded as I’ve ever been and then shovel three orders of the Cypress Grove goat milk nacho cheese with hash browns into my face. For dessert, TERRINE OF CANDY BARS.

Read all about it.

Dead Pool: Street Food for Singles

In case you did not hear already, a cacophony of street foodies and street musicians are gathering tonight at 7:30 in the Mission to help lonely San Franciscians get fat and laid.  Vegansaurus! is reporting that the gathering will be at Linda and 19th, the very same location that Sexy Soup Cart was shut down out at a few weeks back.  This either makes the party a noble act of civil disobedience or a stupid way to get noticed by the police… again.

Cue the Mission Mission dead pool on tonight’s extravaganza.  When will this event get killed and who will be going to jail?  (View the full post to vote)
