This is a still from a short film by Rice Paper Scissors (who recently opened a new brick-and-mortar on Mission Street). Watch it here.
These Thistle guys (note that their URL is thistlechangeyou.com) (wait, so is it pronounced “this’ll”?) were giving out sample shots of their 100% raw, cold-pressed kale juice the other day on Valencia, so we struck up a conversation and ended up buying some other juices to go. But, us being us, we needed to combine them with alcohol in order to consume. It was awesome. Fancy juice is the bomb.
Next I’m gonna try combining the kale juice (which is called “Verdance” and also contains apple, celery, cucumber, spinach, parsley, lemon and ginger) with mezcal!
(We got the idea of a carrot-orange mimosa from the new kitchen staff at Broken Record btw.)
It’s a Guatemalan street specialty known as a shuco, and you can get one at a new spot on 22nd Street called Los Shucos.

This morning Dear Mom was offering bagels via Wesburger that were overnighted from New York. A lot of people wanted them.
I guess we won't have brunch at @dearmomsf today. Also I need to buy an umbrella. http://t.co/2w4WnutKZ8 pic.twitter.com/mg8Wb1xkgf

The line, almost to Folsom from Harrison, was just informed that if they're outside the building; they won't get #bagels.

UPDATE: Here they are, everybody. Yeah, I guess we’re so used to overpaying for gimmicky food that we might as well also wait in line in the rain for it. I’m being serious. I waited in line for 18 hours to see Star Wars Episode 1, even though I didn’t like the first ones and happily slept through it. Waiting in line with all the crazy fanatics, hearing their stories, playing with light sabers, that was the real fun of it.
This is what everyone waited for.
