In this new video from Imsoooconfused, Myles asks Aaron a series of epic questions about life. It’s nine minutes long, so you’re gonna need patience if you want to see the whole thing, but it’s worth it. Aaron has lived his whole life in SF, so when he explains what living in the Mission is “about,” you know he speaks the truth. Of San Francisco nightlife as a whole, he says, “There’s gay bars and Marina bars and the Knockout, and that’s pretty much it.” He also talks about art school (“where you learn to draw and use Photoshop”), the benefits of coming out at 18, and how having kids and getting khakis might help you become normal.

"I eat hipsters for breakfast"
In spite of the fact this video was upload by KQED 8 months ago and is not Mission-related, I am posting it anyways. Besides, is it really a stretch to think about how awesome it would have been to be mauled by a 13-foot tall bear running 40 miles-per-hour while you were riding a camel to get a burrito? Yeah, I didn’t think so.
Go watch KQED QUEST: Ice Age Bay Area. Your boss won’t mind; it was 12 minutes you were not going to spend working anyways.
Kris M the videographer asks, “What the fuck is this?” Indeed, one’s first instinct is to wonder what this Urban Safari expedition could possibly be doing this far from Pier 39.
But a quick perusal of the firm’s website reveals they do do “Ethnic-Themed Tours.” Perhaps that’s what the fuck this is, Kris M. And they do “Treks to Famous Movie Sites”; maybe they caught the La Mission premiere too.
Or? Any other ideas?
(Thanks, Vinnie!)
Just what I need on a blustery Wednesday afternoon: Some slow-motion video of people relaxing in Dolores Park on a calm Sunday afternoon, set to French electronic music.
Thanks, Wesley!

The SF Appeal (the only newspaper I still subscribe to) today shares a short video about the Mission Arts & Performance Project, an organization that aims to combat violence with creativity via a semimonthly neighborhood-wide party. Link.
Also, I have no idea what “semimonthly” means. But the beauty of being a blogger, apparently, is I don’t have to fact check if I don’t wanna.

Over at Imsoooconfused, Myles “tries to lip sync under water for a music video that never happened.”
Update: Brock thought of a much better title for this post.

This video by Azeem is killer. It features a version of Mission Street rendered in a kind of animated collage. Azeem strolls up and down, past a Count Chocula tag, Heather Fong, Pancho Villa and Giant Value, before finishing up with an epic climax atop the New Mission Theater marquee. And you can watch it in HD. (Thanks, Laura and Jessica!)
