This cat mrssion is new to Twitter, and is already tearing it up with some choice thoughts on romance.
So what do you do? Kiss her? I think kiss her. You probably need the exercise.
I think we should all take a cue from my man Jean Hackman. Rather than getting all caught up in a big blustery debate, Jean got inspired and cooked up a tasty rolled taco dinner. Yum, and yum.

Our buddy Tisch from the painfully entertaining Ah Hole Ah Hole tells us this opening tonight is going to be the bomb:
PLAySPACE is pleased to present the first solo exhibition of Los Angeles-based artist Matt Connolly. For BASS TOME, Connolly exhibits a selection of drawings, paintings, and sculptures in addition to a stripped-down sound work. His large-scale, meticulously attended pen drawings read like incredibly rendered textiles—many of the works demonstrate the artist’s interest in formally strict geometries, physicality and movement, text, pattern and, perhaps above all, repetition. Connolly’s process and his practice are both extremely disciplined: the artist is concerned not with the outcome, but rather with the flurry of activity that builds towards the attainment of the composition, irregularities and all. Connolly believes in the transformative capacity of work, which is evidenced in these fastidiously crafted pieces.
Reception starts in 20 minutes! 6-8pm.

I guess it’s Sofia Coppola Week here on Mission Mission. Today, our buddy Therese shares a note she got from a friend of hers who happens to be a crazy Frenchman. Therese was tickled by his broken English:
Therese I love Sofia Coppola. The Virgin Suicide made me CREAM INSide my paints. Ah what a blissful moment. It’s the best movie I have watched in a few. Well this year I loved the Life of Others but it was different. Less american probably. Excellent movie btw.
I guess I was also really happy to see why you liked it. I also thought it was very balanced. Very well finished and complex in a way. Finally some density on my f**king screen, I was deinflating over here, if you see what i mean.
Oh, I see. Read on for his take on the soundtrack by “the world widely acclaimed FRENCH band Air.”

When Ramblas Tapas closed, I figured my days of devouring fancy churros dipped in molten chocolate on (or near) Valencia Street were over. Not so! I’ve just been informed that Regalito does the same thing, and that they do it well. I shall soon see for myself.
(Thanks, KCM!)

If you like letters of the alphabet, you’re going to love the new show at Gallery Hijinks:
The Letter Collector is curated with the intention to exhibit both emerging and established artists in one massive group show based on the common love of type and script. Stemming from immensely different backgrounds, each artist creates their unique translation of a letter in the alphabet. The viewer will experience an assortment of letters expressed through a range of mediums: drawing, painting, photography, neon, wood, relief sculpture, and mixed media.
Letter party! Can’t wait!
Note that the above promo was made by Joe Lumbroso, the man behind that epic TCB Courier commercial.
