The Victoria Theatre on 16th, San Francisco’s oldest operating theater!

These two shots just popped up back to back in my reader, in this order, and I thought it was a sign or something and wanted to share.
Upstairs by visivo; downstairs by cellybrain.
As we found out earlier this week, the free friday tours of the Kink.com Armory are booked up until the fall so it’s going to be a while until we’ll get see all the glorious historical significance inside. Luckily for you, tonight our favorite DSLR-slinger from the Tens somehow got some kind of private tour with his “company”, which I can only assume is a custom power-tool supplier.
Anyway, he snapped this gem and a handful of pictures of good clean adult fun. Check out the full set on the Tens:
Jealous? I am. When I tried to flex my dubious, “Uhh, is there a press guest list? I kinda sorta write for a local blog” card, it fell on deaf ears at the Armory. But who could blame them? They don’t really need the press and we are but a humble blog that has recently been rewarded for pictures of public shitting. On the other hand, a significant portion of our traffic comes from dudes googling Sasha Grey, so maybe it would be good for business?
Well, if you change your mind, Kink.com, you know where to find us.
Update: Brizz posted more pics, including Johnny Five with some, umm, upgrades, on Uptown Almanac.
Our pal Sarah Kelly and her organization Adapting to Scarcity spent part of last year hanging out in La Huizachera (outside of Guadalajara, MX) with kids like Mauro here, taking pictures and making videos. Tonight, some of their work is showcased at ATA:
These children live along a polluted canal that carries untreated human and industrial waste away from Guadalajara. The state of the canal deeply affects the health of the community. IMDEC, the Mexican Institute for Community Development, has been working weekly with the children in the community to educate them about the environment. They gave digital point-and-shoot cameras to the kids, taught them to use them and have been helping them capture their perspectives and their neighborhood. The phenomenal and moving photos were shot, selected and titled by the children.
The fun runs from 7-10pm.
Photographer Helena Price snapped this gem on Valentine’s Day, but waited until yesterday to publish it, probably because she needed six weeks to recover from the crippling rush of witnessing this epic scene in the flesh. So what happened? Did the little tyke conquer post-apocalyptic Western Europe or what?
Also, now we can say without a doubt that that mystery machine parked in the median out front of Zeitgeist a couple years ago was this guy’s WAR CHARIOT.
WAR CHARIOT!!

One of my favorite photographers is this dude Jaime Martínez who takes a lot of low-res 3D pics and turns them into mesmerizing GIF animations. A couple weeks ago, Jaime attended MtyMx, a sort of anti-SXSW in Monterrey, and he’s been posting rad pictures ever since, including this shot of a Monterrey band called Mockinpott.
Mockinpott rules. They have kind of a Lost Sounds thing going on, and their label is giving away free digital downloads of all their records! Happy Easter!
