Maybe this is what becomes of all our stolen bikes

So posits WBTC, whose dad saw this scene in Turkey. [link]

On the other hand, SFPD just found a similar cache just across the bay in Oakland (and posted pics of all their finds), so maybe there’s hope after all.

Unicyclist just unicycling

No big deal.

New video shows Valencia Street rioters repeatedly attacking a police car with police officers in it

First this guy runs at it and punches it:

Then it gets hit with more paint bombs, and then this guy sneaks up behind it with a flare:

The flare guy makes them decide to drive away, and a guy throws a recycling bin at them as they flee:

The video shows a lot of other stuff too, most of which is similarly disconcerting. Watch the whole thing here, if you must, but it will probably just put you in a bad mood:

Bully for them that they’re so proud of their work I guess.

This Adam Sandler/Andy Samberg intertwined squirting dicks movie looks pretty good

Cocktails for your ears

Just listen to this song by new local band Cocktails and tell me you don’t want to go to their show tonight next Wednesday night at El Rio. I won’t believe you:

RSVP and invite your friends!

Frybread with fresh strawberries, powdered sugar and honey

I’d seen a banana version before I think, but this beauty was news to me. Rocky’s Frybread is basically the best frybread, whether you get the sweet (like this) or the savory (with beans and cheese and salsa and stuff).

Follow Rocky (not pictured) on Twitter or on Facebook to keep tabs on where he’ll be at. (Mostly he’s at El Rio, on the back patio.)

New playground, soccer field and tennis courts open on Valencia Street

Mission Local reports:

Though the ribbon cutting was canceled for Mission Playground this morning, that didn’t stop strollers from rolling in, kids and adults from testing the new play field and a young boy from chasing bubbles across the soccer field.

City officials and the mayor were busy making the announcement on Piers 30 and 32 that the Golden State Warriors plan to move to San Francisco so the pomp and circumstance at the new play fields, courts and playground at Mission Playground will have to be postponed for now.

Ha! Fair enough. Read on for more pics and lots more background on the project.

Hip hop and ping pong, together at last – finally!

This party was supposed to happen last month, but was sadly postponed. Sadly, that is, until now — because it’s happening this Friday! I cannot wait! From the official invite:

AMERICAN TRIPPS history will be made when DJs Laser Tad (aka Tad Teste) and King Friday bring a dose of hip hop to our party for the very first time. It’s gonna be chill ’90s hip hop, upbeat, feel-good jams sure to go hand-in-hand with BERLIN-STYLE PING PONG ACTION. (Think De La Soul or “Feel Me Flow,” nahmean?) Don’t miss this.

Furthermore, we’re at Rickshaw Stop this time, so there’s FOOSBALL and SKEEBALL also, plus a full bar and lots of sofas and RICKSHAWS to sit on. Dance party on the main stage!

Dance party on the main stage! RSVP and invite your friends!

Get your nails did tonight at Shotwell’s

This is happening from 5:30-9pm. We’re told Party Nails will be doing the nailing. (Thanks, Paul!)

Video from a really fun Sunday evening backyard concert

Aren’t backyard shows the best? Rob Little, from a local band called Psychic Hiking, opened up a show I went to on Sunday. Rob went on right after the the solar eclipse — a tough act to follow — and he killed. See for yourself:

Sorry the video is upside down. Either I have an accelerometer problem or it’s an homage to Rodney Graham.

Biographical Info:

"I joked that living in the Mission would be the end of me. And there were nights where it felt like the case.

One night I went out with my friend Allan to the bar that no one goes to on 16th Street, where I lost half my drink and money on the dance floor. Later we skated down 16th to Evelyn Lee, where I fell off my board and landed on my head as the 22 bus sped past behind me. A sobering moment. At the bar, I sulked and nursed my wounds until Allan put on Amy Winehouse’s 'Valerie.' We danced, he dipped me, and I felt better."
