Uptown Almanac, which was described to us by its founder the other day as “a joke Mission Mission,” is actually pretty useful. Today it informed me that the REI website has Timbuk2′s Dolores Chiller on sale for just $79.95! Bargain! I guess the spike in demand following our controversial product review last summer has finally begun to wear off. Link.

Since putting up the post about Aussie Mission burritos, we’ve been alerted to both the restaurant’s Facebook fan page and the above photos (from here and here, respectively).  The place is called Tuckeria Fresh Mexican, and you can find an in-progress website here.

Looks like they’re hiring, so if you’re looking to move to Brisbane and fancy yourself a burrito expert, by all means, do apply.

Facing an invasion of fruit flies at The Secret Alley, Noel decides to employ a less-than-obvious method of getting rid of them: hanging a plastic bag with water and pennies in it over the counter. The idea being (I think) that the light reflecting out of the bag will confuse the little buggers, causing them to scatter.

Just in case this doesn’t happen to work, anyone have any other helpful ideas? The least obvious the better.
