This Thursday, It’s the Highpoint Lowlife Radio Show’s turn to host the weekly BFF.fm night at Pops Bar. Highpoint Lowlife originally started out as a weekly DJ night at POW! on 6th and Mission, circa 1999, so it’s gonna be a fun one playing the same blend of weirdo electronics, hip hop, and noise! With DJ’s Thor, Bill Shitski and Mel taking you on a musical adventure all night.

Here’s Namu Gaji‘s official announcement:
We will be launching the Crokune for a limited time at Namu Gaji with our new chicken skewer focused Yakitori Tuesdays!
What’s a crokune? Crispy, buttery everything croissant from Neighbor Bakehouse stuffed with soft and rich tsukune meatballs that have been caramelized by the kiss of binchotan charcoal and finished with beet mayo and an umami-rich tare glaze. MissionMission.org calls it the best sandwich in SF right now.
The crokune will be amongst a number of specialty items available from the Pink Zebra himself Chef Jesse Koide in collaboration with Chef Dennis Lee.
Expect a rotating seasonal selection of skewers ($4 – $5.75) in addition to the crokune ($9.50), including:
- aged hen + scallion
- chicken tsukune
- crispy chicken skin skewers
- spicy chicken hearts
- boneless wing
- chicken thigh
- seasonal vegetables from the namu farm

Beautiful: The Carole King Musical is coming back to San Francisco! We saw it here before it went onto Broadway victory, winning two Tony’s and a Grammy. We have to miss it this time around but that doesn’t mean you have to! Need a date night? Go out for drama talk and drinks!

Here’s the summary of our review of this musical back when we saw in Fall 2013:
Are you a huge fan of 60s/70s pop music? Are you into music history? You should totally go see this show! Don’t care about music from that era? You’ll probably be disappointed with the brevity of the story, even though it’s an endearing one. Just like most shows put up by SHN, this one doesn’t fail to dazzle with the production. Beautiful sets, talented actors, overall a great spectacle. The only thing that fell short was the play, which choose hits over substance.
Beautiful: The Carole King Musical runs from August 9th – September 18th at the Orpheum Theatre. Tickets range from $45-$212 and can be purchased through the SHN website. Right now there are some orchestra and mezzanine tickets available on Goldstar for $55-$70.
