KronnerBurger is the best thing

KronnerBurger is just the best. I won’t go into anymore detail than that, since the menu doesn’t either, and part of the fun was being surprised by the nuances and details of the preparations of everything. The food was outstanding, the drinks were outstanding, the space is fun, the music was pretty interesting, the service was great. KronnerBurger is the best. (And they’re open tonight and tomorrow, 5pm-2am.)

(Oh and, yeah, it’s not Cronenburger.)

Confidential to Nick Pal: Hurry up and try the Scotcholate Milk, because it should probably be this week’s Drink of the Week.

Found Footage Festival tonight at the Roxie will have you rolling in the aisles

The Found Footage Festival is a riot. They scour video stores and garage sales all over the country and turn their findings into a tight little incredibly hysterical cinematic presentation each year. And then they take it on tour. Nick and Joe host the screenings, and they’re pretty funny too, so it’s like live comedy and a YouTube K-hole rolled into one.

Here are some highlights new for 2012:

-A mysterious video found in Vancouver last year titled “Hand Made Love”
-A video featuring a woman whose enthusiasm for craft sponging borders on psychotic
-A new collection of exercise tapes, including one called “The Sexy Treadmill Workout”
-Never-before-seen clips from the Kenny “K-Strass” Strasser yo-yo pranks that the FFF hosts pulled on news stations in the Midwest last year
-An “opening act” of found classroom films from the ‘60s and ‘70s, curated especially for the show by renowned collector Skip Elsheimer of A.V. Geeks

And here’s the trailer:

Advance tickets here, or just show up at the Roxie tonight at 8pm.

Pick-pocketed at the Knockout

Our pal C’mon Pony had a great time at Debaser up until she noticed all her shit was gone:

My purse was on me the entire time and I noticed at some point that the latch was open. I soon realized my phone was gone and initially thought it had fallen out, so I frantically searched the floor around me before I realized my wallet was also gone, and it became clear that someone had somehow grabbed whatever they wanted out of my purse without me noticing. UFOs over the Mission: ‘They’re forming a triangle now, dude!’

Reader Enrique B. explains:

My wife and I were about to head home parked in Valencia, when she noticed these lights in formation above the San Francisco Mission District.

I wasn’t sure if at first if it was another Tequila hazed mirage, but myself and a few bi-standars where all in complete awe at the lights we saw on Valencia. Please excuse my drunken reaction. This was the first time I ever saw something like this. There’s also a yellow speck which is from my iPhone lens but it’s clear which lights I’m referring to.

At first glance, I thought it might be fireworks but when they started to form a triangular formation, I knew this was uncommon.

You folks be the judge. My final conclusion….UFO’s are here for Papalote salsa.

Haçeteria, my favorite dance party in the city, finally comes to the Mission!

This party originally took place at Deco Lounge in the Tenderloin, but ever since that place shuttered to make way for a new endeavor by the Bender’s crew, the boys of Haçeteria have been looking for new digs. I’m not sure if they’ve inked anything permanent, but for this month at least they’re in the Mission!

Here’s their official “about” for those of you that still need to know:

Haçeteria is a fog and laser fueled monthly dance night organized by DJs Tristes Tropiques, Nihar, Jason P, and Smac, who play the steamiest electronic dance music vinyl slabs, including Classic House, Acid, Techno, and Rave as well as flirtations with more recent related rhythms. Club Haçeteria is also dedicated to highlighting a diverse array of live electronic dance musicians that are breaking new ground while moving bodies on the dance floor.

Biographical Info:

"I joked that living in the Mission would be the end of me. And there were nights where it felt like the case.

One night I went out with my friend Allan to the bar that no one goes to on 16th Street, where I lost half my drink and money on the dance floor. Later we skated down 16th to Evelyn Lee, where I fell off my board and landed on my head as the 22 bus sped past behind me. A sobering moment. At the bar, I sulked and nursed my wounds until Allan put on Amy Winehouse’s 'Valerie.' We danced, he dipped me, and I felt better."
