Ran into Jihaari at karaoke last night. I was like, “Dude, what’s the deal with your show on Saturday??” And he was all, “Dude, it’s all about surfing and skating when I was a kid — only now I’m older.” (And then I had to go sing “Kiss with a Fist.”)
So it’s maybe gonna be kind of a nostalgia trip about being a skater in the ’80s and ’90s — but richer because it’s also about what it’s like to get older and watch things (and your own abilities) change. Sounds CHILL!
Dolores Park Church (at 455 Dolores Street) is selling off a bunch of its assets at a weekend-long estate sale. PopSugar has further details:
Considering how trendy they are, church pews will no doubt be the hot ticket: choose from long, bench-style, blonde wood, curved pews; smaller, two-seat, curved pews; and three-seat, straight pews with wood seats that lift up; all have been unbolted and are ready to move. There will also be antique umbrella lockers; vintage, blonde wood Thonet Mundus chairs, made in Poland; church hymnals; display cases; vintage, painted wood partitions; children’s painted wood chairs and tables; bookcases; round wood tables; and other antique and vintage furniture. Plus, a 2005 Honda Civic, anyone?
(Thanks for the tip, @PopSugarSF!)
When I first saw this picture I thought Primo was straight PHASE SHIFTING in ‘n’ out of various extra-nasty dimensions or something, but it turns out maybe he’s just a ghost. Ghost Primo! Tonight at the Knockout! Here’s the official poster:
Oh, that’s right! Our pal Wam Bam Ashleyanne special guests tonight! She WILL bring the nasty.
Gravel & Gold has a behind-the-scenes photo spread about the making of their awesome TITTY TEE (and titty bag) right here.
First somebody takes out a stoplight on South Van Ness, and now this. Our pal Russell Quinn shares the skinny:
I was walking back to my home on Valencia and Duboce this morning around 12:30am, where I discovered a car on top of a fire hydrant. I’m guessing it was either a drunk driver or a ditched stolen car—none of the bystanders seemed to know—but the water pressure was insane. The whole block is flooded.
Russell shot a pair of short films on the topic:
Congrats, Cold Beer! (Hopefully it’s full of Pabst Blue High Life.)
(Also, it’s gorgeous in the park right now, nbd.)
I guess it took me about 12 minutes to reassure all the people in the Midwest and back east that started IMing to see if I was okay that I was okay.
More.
