Fecal Face opening at brand new Mission gallery tonight!

In case you haven’t heard of Fecal Face before, they’re only one of the raddest art collectives the city has to offer.  And now, they’re coming to the Mission!  Join them tonight in their brand new space for an impressive opening featuring some truly psychedelic stuff from a brilliant combination of local artists like our pal Matt Furie (along with some of their Brazilian friends)!

Check out the deets here and RSVP on the Facebook page here.

What did you do with your Christmas tree?

Looks like this one didn’t make it out to Ocean Beach before the traditional Christmas tree bonfire. Which, may I add, is the classiest way for a Christmas tree to go out–like Bon Jovi in a blaze of glory (or not).

Cool new look for winter: Feet like a cartoon character

These could belong to a happy cartoon zucchini, right?

(Well they don’t. They belong to a person named Chantel, and Fashionist has more pics of her here.)

UPDATE: Or a happy American Tripps ad, am I RIGHT??

Purple drank drink special tonight at Beauty Bar

Get some purple drank in your tank this evening at the lovely Beauty Bar with another nostalgic installment of the nineties fueled Big Fun. Tonight 100% Silk recording artist Magic Touch is at the helm while djs Nu-Jack of Jock Jams and Pickpocket of Donuts heat up the place with “house music, booty bass, 90′s r&b, freestyle, ghettotech & more!” Admission is always free and $4 gets you a mystery mix of gin and purple drank. While there’s no guarantee on the potency of the purp stuff, the photobooth pictures in your back pocket will surely jar your memory tomorrow morning.

Princess Buspiss, meet Princess Artbutt

NBC Southern California reports:

A Colorado woman dropped her pants at a museum and rubbed her rear end all over a painting valued at $30 million, according to police.

Carmen Tisch, 36, was arrested after scratching, punching and, well, rubbing her butt against Clyfford Still’s “1957-J no.2″ and causing an estimated $10,000 damage to the artwork at the Clyfford Still Museum in Denver. Police believe she was drunk during the late December incident.

Detroit garage rock doc screens tonight at the Roxie

It’s called It Came From Detroit and it promises to cover the Gories, the Dirtbombs and everything in between (including the rise of the White Stripes). The Roxie explains:

IT CAME FROM DETROIT is the ultimate fan’s look at the city’s internationally renowned “garage rock” scene. Produced over five years, the documentary chronicles the scene that spawned the likes of The Dirtbombs, The Hentchmen, Detroit Cobras, Demolition Doll Rods and The Von Bondies, both before and after the spotlight that came to town as the White Stripes rose to fame.

I’m there. Here’s the trailer:

Breaking news: Google Maps advertising algorithm slightly off

The always entertaining quest to find horrendous 1995-era websites for local Mission joints yielded some surprising results when clicking on Mission Hill Saloon. Instead of a link to their website (which presumably doesn’t exist) I was offered an amazing deal at Mission Hills Dongguan, a mere 10,000 km away!

Bike Basket Pies recipe booklet is now a handy iPhone app

I love pie! Buy it here!

(The actual physical booklet is available for sale at a bunch of actual physical local retailers as well. Full list here.)
