Local band’s gear stolen

Brothers Comatose ran into some bad luck the other day. From their Facebook event page:

Hey all,
The Brothers Comatose’s PA system was stolen today in the Mission District in SF. This stuff cost us lots of money and we’d love to do everything we can to get it back.
Please help us try and get our PA back by reposting this event link.

Stolen:
Mixer – Soundcraft Spirit FX 16-track (in black Gator Case)
Speakers – 2 Mackie SRM-450 Powered PA Speakers
- Yamaha MSR 100 Powered Speaker

You can contact us at brotherscomatose@gmail.com if you have any leads.

Also, if you have any ideas on how to retrieve our stuff or have creative fundraising ideas please do let us know.

There is a reward.

Thanks for reading and for supporting live music.

Moon Duo in-store at Aquarius tonight at 6 PM

Just read over on the Bay Bridged that Moon Duo is doing an in-store at Aquarius tonight at 6 PM.

You can hear one of their new songs over at the Bay Bridged, check it out.

If you can’t make the in-store, they’re playing Bottom of the Hill tonight with Royal Baths and Lilac, who were pretty rad when I heard them for the first time at this show a couple weeks ago

Pole Position

In case you were wondering how I really messed up my shoulder.

Albino Bianchi stolen last night

MM reader Brooks H. just got finished helping with all the neat Shop for Japan stuff to help raise money for tsunami victims when he rudely discovered that karma isn’t always cut and dry:

After raising ten grand for japan, my beautiful all white bianchi  got stolen. One AM last night at 17th and mission they clipped my lock. There’s not another bike around here like it.

Let’s all do Brooks a favor and keep an eye out for this exotic bicycle.  These things are rare!

Muni logo on your neck for life

From a graphic design perspective, obviously the Muni logo is a winner. And Muni is pretty great in a number of ways. And tattoos are cool. What’s not to like?

Muni Diaries has this and a few more in a gallery of Muni-celebrating ink.

(Thanks, Sally!)

Climbers drink at Homestead

So says this new poll by Mission Love Advice anyway:

It’s true so far as I know. Click here to vote (and read a bunch more probably accurate, possibly funny stereotypes).

Metal at Potrero del Sol this afternoon

Blood, Bath, & Beyond Day is a “metal generator show” at Potrero del Sol this afternoon from noon to 5:30. Facebook says there’s a free bag of Cheetos for the first 30 people to show up, but it’s BYO soda-pop.

Look at how beautiful it is outside! You know you could use a quick break from Dolores.

[Thanks, Lorenzo!]

Branding Issue

It doesn’t feel like Office Max is too concerned with the presentation of their new logo.

This strawberry jam comes straight from your childhood yet is still ultra-fresh

Available from Inna Jam at a number of local spots:

ultra fresh albion STRAWBERRY jam (cooked on Tuesday) made from organic strawberries grown in Watsonville now available in San Francisco and the East Bay! the albion varietal features big strawberry flavors and makes a very classic tasting strawberry jam – this the “childhood” strawberry jam.

Childhood was awesome! Can’t wait to try it! Learn more (and see where it’s available).

Cesar Chavez parade on Saturday means you’ll need to move your car today

The annual Cesar Chavez Parade starts at 11am on Saturday at 19th and Guerrero, and culminates at 24th and Treat for a big block party with lots of food, music and crafts.

So besides having a nice little Saturday out being festive and whatnot, what does this mean for you? It means watch out for those pesky paper “NO PARKING” signs that seem to pop-up when you’re not looking and then your car gets towed, when just yesterday it was totally cool to park there and now you’re out $400.

But seriously, block parties are awesome. Bring on the BBQ!
