Our pal Heather has been spending a bunch of time volunteering at the SPCA Animal Control Center, which basically entails playing with and petting a bunch of super cute cats, and she wanted to let you know about something rad going on this Saturday:

The SPCA and the Animal Control Center are having a huge pet adoption event this weekend at 15th and Harrison. It’s sponsored by this non-profit, “Maddie’s Matchmakers” so Pet adoptions are free and the organizations get much needed $$$ from each pet adopted. And lest you worry that this will attract riff-raff who don’t want to pay adoption fees, all adopters are still screened for appropriateness (like landlord permission–which we all know can be a deal-breaker).

While it might not quite be on par with the Thinker or David, this is pretty much as good as it gets around here.

Are you really that different from a bro? I mean, you like athletics (biking is sporty!), drinking lots of beers, sports teams (everyone liked the Giants that one time last year!), and babes. Also your respective neighborhoods are both super-expensive to live in. Half way there already!

Even though I’ve been in Northern California my entire life, I’d never been to Alcatraz until my friend Allie took me last Friday. It was pretty great, particularly the flora and fauna. See the snowy egret or something hiding in there? I was standing there looking at it when suddenly something else started talking at me, so I made a recording.
