Rumormonger: Harassed Skater Bois Spotted With a Real Photographer

From Mission Mistaken:

On my way home today, I swear to god I saw our skater boys from the ‘SFPD arrest of skater punks’ video from a few days back.

North of the Market St. Safeway, a few blocks off of Duboce Park.

If I’m not mistaken, they were about to be photographed by what appeared to be a REAL photographer.

If anyone has the inside scoop, I’m sure my fellow (long suffering) MM readers would love to get the skinny.

I’m too lazy to do any real research on this*, but I’d put my bets on the Chronicle doing a followup story in which they don’t credit us with breaking the story.  Either that or TLC was shooting the promotional photos for the upcoming reality show, A Day In The Life of Some Skaters Kinda Made Famous By a Minor Local News Controversy.

TCB Courier Unveils Service Area Map and Pricing

I’m pretty upset that they will not deliver to my yacht parked in the middle of the Bay, but this is still pretty sweet:

Regarding the map (warning: PDF):

we will deliver to you if you’re even remotely close to the zone..  this is just to discourage 3am deliveries to the zoo

Who wants to go halfsies on an order of Zante’s delivered to the grizzly bear enclosure?

Street Art Meets Marin County

I was roaming around the rough streets of Marin County the other day and was thinking how awesome the street art was where money goes to die.  Of course, I only took two pictures, which is really is not enough to merit a post, but I’ll let it through regardless.

While not in the Mission (or even San Francisco), I was pretty psyched with the stencil art and my camera phones ability to actually take a reasonable picture.

I cannot believe a cell phone photo managed to come out this well.

Police Chase Through the Mission Ends in Crash, Epic Lawls

police_chase_ends_in_crash

Last night, we receive two tips that there was a police chase through the Mission that ended with a crash at 23rd and Potrero and somewhere between 16 and 25 cruisers hanging out at the aftermath.

Kati Jackson, my favorite frequent email tipster, managed to take the crash to the net-level:

It’s 11pm in the mission. Do you know where you parked your car?

Well, follow the trail of fluids across the street and look on top of the road sign.
There it is! And just in case you need a hand, SFPD’s finest is here to help.

What’s that you said the other day about a police reality show? Oh wait, that’s just the neighborhood. Hey mom, still thinking about visiting?

Kati later sent us a followup email: “That black thing?  Yeah, that’s the turn signal for the intersection.”

Anna later emailed us with some on-the-ground reporting:

Hey y’all, a car swerved across the Potrero and 23rd intersection where I live a few minutes ago, took out a small stoplight and a street sign, and crashed into the apartment next door. About 16 cop cars showed up and arrested what looked like a young woman, and she was taken away on a stretcher.

Damn.

Thanks for all the tips!

BART Station Agents Enforcing Bikes on BART Rules?

Reader Chris sends us this note:

Did anyone else encounter the BART station ticket agents enforcing the no bikes on the East Bay bound lines this morning?  The ticket agent at 16th and Mission was posted up at the bike gate asking everyone with a bike which direction they were headed.  I understand the rules regarding bikes on BART, but this is the first time I actually saw a station agent in the Mission enforcing them.

Annoying, at best.  I’m sure there is a legitimate reason as to why they have not done this, but why don’t they dedicate one car during peak hours to be a bike car?

Dear Creatures Trunk Show Comes to Candystore

Mission ladies, this could be you:

zooey dear creatures

Candystore Collective on 16th/Guerrero is having a Dear Creatures trunk show Thursday night from 6:00-8:30 p.m.  From SF Indie Fashion:

Along with cocktails and bon bons, the evening promises a sneak preview of and chance to order from the coveted indie label’s forthcoming holiday and spring 2010 collections. We are smitten with the girlish, vintage look  of the pieces – we can see why Zooey Deschanel is such a fan.

Yeah, the LA-based label’s clothes’ll probably be very expensive, but they’ll definitely have some lovely pieces to look at that’ll make it worth the trip.

I plan on leaving either a) bummed about the dresses I don’t have, or b) guilty about the money I’ve spent but stoked I’m dressed like a Girl Scout and/or infantilized secretary.

Taqueria Cancun Closed?

Bummer!  Shawna sent in this disturbing image, a sign posted on the doors of Cancun:
