Reader Heather M. sends us a hot tip about hot lunch:
“you’ve seen the ‘wooden flyers’ that the guys from hot lunch are putting up around the neighborhood?”
Turns out that hot lunch is putting up skateboards all over the Mission advertising a show on Oct. 10th at El Rio. Best of all, a skeleton is flipping me off. Classy.

Look, everyone already knows that special-agent President G Dubs was the mastermind behind 9/11, but did you really need to sully up the Bender's bathroom with it?
Apparently littering the sidewalks with DVDs and standing outside of the Post Office with crappy signs promoting a fringe right-wing agenda was not good enough for some Mission resident. Yeah, now Resident Right is taking his sharpie to the streets! And Bender’s! FUCK YA!
The evidence suggests he is also good at pasting up posters on top of shark-art. Look, I’m all for more political graffiti (admittedly, I was getting a little sick of cute, paste-up kitten faces), but is this the best we can do?

Beer sausage with sauerkraut, onions and peppers. By Bonnie L.
Oh dang! Encased meats!
Finally, some more info on Rosamunde’s new Mission location! Take it away, Grub Street:
If all goes according to plan, there will be a second location of Rosamunde Sausage Grill in the Mission District by January 1. Owner Jennifer Tucci told Grub Street today that she and new partner Josh Margolis have closed a deal to buy the current Cafe Arguello space on Mission Street near 24th Street. They plan to keep the existing Rosamunde menu, adding a couple of dishes that Margolis says “won’t be expanded that far off of sausages.” They’re building out the bar area and adding some 20 beer taps. The rest of the space will stay more or less the same, including those giant windows, but they’ll replace the existing tables and chairs with new communal tables, tall tables, and regular tables with bench seats. They won’t have table service, so you still order and pick up the food and beer at the counter.
Yeah! January 1st! Ring the New Year in with a fist full of sausage (that’s what he said?). My personal favorite is the Hungarian (that’s what she said?).

Did anyone else spot this in Mission Loc@l? ”Mr. Pickles in a cowboy hat.” Cowboy hat? This is the most disgusting attempt at assimilating a Mission icon into American culture to date.
Peep this, East Bay journalism students: if you are going to slam our neighborhood’s favorite pickle’s unfettered sense of style, do it right:

(On a side note, searching for “Mexican Cowboy Hat” in google images is not quite what I expected)
Jesse Fernandez has been running a multimedia comedy show called Things We Made at The Dark Room Theater on 18th/Mission for over two years now and I have a feeling it’s pretty funny. Sure, “multimedia comedy show” sounds kinda douchey, but it can’t be any worse than the things you currently laugh at (Seth Rogen? Are you kidding me?). Be honest with yourself: you have a shitty sense of humor.
But back to Things We Made. The relevant deets:

“Things We Made” is a comedy show that presents a salad of wit, characters, videos, illustrations, movement and music. It’s an atmosphere to share unconventional and often brilliant creations. Patrick Bulger and Jesse Fernandez host this monthly conduit of San Francisco’s original and delectable humor.
When: 10:00pm, 10/17/09
What: A comedy show called “Things We Made”

Go on and see it!
Chris Garcia, I remember being pretty funny. I vaguely recall my bf and I trying to impress him with jokes one night at maybe the Hemlock and walking away feeling successful, but let’s face it. We weren’t funny. Sorry, Chris.
We’ve just started the missions first late night delivery service. We deliver pretty much anything you need.. Want a burrito and its 1145 and your drunk at the bar.. call us.. Need two gallons of milk, some rubber gloves and a dental damn… call us..
This is the brain child of two messengers that got sick and tired of sitting around downtown on standby all day, and decided to make something happen. There is late night delivery in NYC, Boston, Philly, and tons of other city’s, SF needs to get some.
And the reviews are in:
i was the first customer! we used TCB to pick up and deliver a pizza from a place that won’t deliver. A great idea, and I’m stoked that it’s Chas.
Ye333eeessss broooooh
Full disclosure: I don’t know Chas personally (one of the service’s proprietors), but he and his friend crushed the Mission Mission Alleycat yesterday, beating out the next finisher by 29 minutes. Boy can ride a bike.
