Hear Jonathan Richman celebrate the life and music of Lou Reed this Sunday on Radio Valencia

And it’s on Lou Reed’s actual birthday! Here’s the deal:

Jonathan Richman is coming on Wax! Crackle! Pop! and we’re dedicating two hours to Lou Reed and The Velvet Underground. Lou would have turned 72 on March 2. It’s well known that the Velvets were a huge influence on Jonathan and The Modern Lovers. We’ll play some of our favorite VU songs and chat about Lou and the immense legacy he left behind.

Sounds killer! Tune in this Sunday, 10-midnight: radiovalencia.fm

The official Mission Mission Noise Pop show starring No Age is tonight

Let’s listen to everyone on the bill…

More Dolores Park renovations mean more Dolores Park closures

Saturday, March 1, 2014. That’s tomorrow.

Today (rainy, rainy today) is your last chance to enjoy classic “hipster hill” (aka “tallboy terrace”) before it’s closed and razed and slowly renovated over a period of many months. Where will all the tallboys go?

Bible says what

I googled it:

I’m definitely going to start writing my name =ALLAN= though.

Poll: Google Bus vs. Google Glass

Rad map with lots to say tells you everything you need to know about the Bay Area

Like what lies on the other side of the Hills of Income Separation; where to find Tiki Bar Naval Island (Fun fact: I just went to Forbidden Island for the first time last weekend, and I urge you to do the same, but only after checking out the American Pinball Museum); and of course, New Hipster.  Spanning the Bay all the way from Rusty Ship Graveyard to Those Oh So Colorful Salt Marshes, it also answers the most important question, “Why do we love Norcal?”

Because Hawk Hill.
