Did any of you guys get stuck in the rain storm yesterday. Well, not so much a “storm” as a light “drizzle”… Even “drizzle” could be pushing it. I finally got around to developing the rolls from the last good storm we had (back in April?) and wanted to share them with you guys.

Jei Cheetah, seen above rocking a two handed yo-yo routine, has been a regular at the yearly Bay Area Classic competition in Golden Gate Park. There aren’t many furries competing at yo-yo competitions these days, but I’m kind of hoping this is a trend we’ll see grow. Not just in yo-yoing… table tennis, climbing, skiing, everywhere. Put a fuzzy red fox suit on a pitcher and I bet it’d make baseball more fun to watch.

San Francisco’s “Swan” (or sometimes “Birdman”) can most often be found feeding the pigeons at 16th and Mission. Where he’s been hanging out and selling his daily newsletter’s for the last decade. Though he’s usually by himself, there’s been another dude that’s been joining him for about an hour a day to feed the pigeons. The two don’t talk much to each other, in fact I don’t think they even know each other’s names, though you can find them sitting by each other around noon at the 16th st BART.

With funds for film and developing being a little tight at the moment, I’ve been carrying around my Lumix 3D1 more and more these days. It’s small, has a wide lens, and the most subtle stereoscopic lens distance of any other digital camera at the moment. It’s nice to have a pocket sized camera to carry around the neighborhood again. If you don’t mind having the menu in Japanese, you can also grab an Olympus 3D1 here for a hundred bucks less. Since the UI is mostly symbols, it’s not that difficult to navigate either way. Speaking of money saving tips: the $15 haircuts at Lee Hong on 16th (in the above photo) are a hell of a deal.

Film is temperamental. Old cameras can be too. I’ve been shooting on my Nimslo 3D camera long enough to have a decent pile of fuck-ups, but accidents and film aren’t always bad thing. Some of these shots had something wrong happen in developing, others were the result of the film not properly advancing. I hated them when checking them out through the loupe, but found that when I turned them into animations (the Nimslo shots 4 side by side shots at the same time), they took on a life of their own.
