And to help get you in the mood, earlier this week the Debaser boys released a new mix, and get this: it’s a sort of re-imagining of the Singles soundtrack:
[H]ere it is, our first ever, full length, official Debaser mixtape. That only took three years to get around to!
We like our parties to be period accurate wherever possible. So in that spirit, we present you with our ode to love and love lost in the ’90s, themed around the classic, Cameron Crowe film, Singles. If you listen closely, you can hear some choice cuts from the film, but also the ringing, jangling sound of the fall of 1992 and spring of 1993.
Epic! Listen here.
And don’t forget to check out all the submissions in the comments section of our Debaser 3rd anniversary party ticket giveaway. Tons of killer YouTube clips!
And of course, it’s never too late to RSVP and invite your friends to tonight’s party.
With live music. Tomorrow at 8pm.
Slow Motion Cowboys, The Gilded Rooks, Tin Sandwich and Pauli Anne.
UPDATE: The tour was a success. Read all about it!
As we hinted earlier this week, the first ever Mission Mission Bloody Mary Tour will be taking place this Saturday. We’re tentatively scheduling to start at noon, and the first stop will be none other than the 500 Club to sample Rachel’s famous bacon bloody mary (pictured)! The schedule will go something like this:
If any of you would like to join us in order to collaborate, you are more than welcome! We plan on staying at each spot for about 30-45 minutes, which is plenty of time to enjoy one bloody mary comfortably before heading over to the next location. We’re going to have scorecards to help rate them all according to a variety of pertinent categories, so hopefully every bartender will be on their A game!
This is going to happen rain or shine, so bring umbrellas and stuff if you have to! A nice vodka and tomato-fueled romp across the neighborhood!
Also, since Argus, Thieves, and the Attic all seem to have their special bloody marys on Sundays, they will have to wait until the Second MM Bloody Mary Tour (which will probably happen in about a month or less, actually). Nonetheless, there will be plenty of delicious bloody marys to go around!
See you on Saturday at noon!

Our pal and local filmaker Roger spent some time with Palestinian kids in Gaza recently and helped them create a series of short films that he’s going to be showing at Artist Televison Access on Valencia by 21st at 8pm this Friday. Of course there will be snacks and wine at the event, and you can see all the details here.
Stop by and check it out!

I know SF Public Works is upgrading water infrastructure in the Mission, but is anyone else experiencing this? They must have struck a massive river of ecotoplasm under the city, because shit is getting weird – if the tap starts pouring red I’m getting out of Dodge.
If anyone in the Mission knows anything about Japan, it’s Kiya from Self Edge. His shop specializes in Japanese reproductions of vintage American garments, so his work takes him overseas pretty often, looking at product, checking out production facilities, meeting the people fueling this distinctive subculture that is denim obsession.
So, if you want to aid Japan by patronizing local Mission businesses, Self Edge might be a great place to start.
P.S. Look how well my four-month-old ringrings are breaking in:
In this outtake from a wedding video I shot a few years back, the groom and his mother have an energetic back-and-forth regarding celebrity wedding counts. Hopefully that’s all you need to know:

New Daft Punk video shooting on Mission! Tron royalties run amock!
The attention to detail regarding lighting is remarkable. Flashlight, spotlight, headlight; basically, all manner of lights. The utmost attention to proper illumination.
