San Jalisco’s famous red panties (which I’m pretty sure date back to before San Jalisco was San Jalisco) have been heisted!

First of all, we should all keep a close eye on cellybrain (the Flickr account that revealed the location of a hostage Mr. Pickle all those years back). Also, what’s the deal with those enormous red panties anyway?

Chomsky is still lost somewhere in the Mission District. The last time he was spotted around [2 hours] ago was on 20th street heading towards Folsom street around Dolores. If you have anyone in the neighborhood that can help keep their eyes peeled for the little fella, I would greatly appreciate it. If they spot him, please have them call the SF Animal Control Animal Emergency (415) 554-9400. Thank you.

Local historian David Enos, recalling days gone by:

I remember back in 2008, right after the economic collapse, there were great deals all over town.  The Onion was always doing free drink nights at various bars, and there was a “nudist’s society” event where older naked people talked on a stage into a feeding-back mic about their nude lifestyles.  Guests averted their eyes and poured free beers from a keg across the room.  “For me it’s about being free, and accepting that I…want to be nude.”  All the lights were on in the room.  I almost ruined my then-new relationship that night, by forgetting to include her and generally not being attentive. Irritated on the way home, she asked, “Is this what you and your friends do, get off on looking at naked freaks and getting wasted?”

The New 20th Street Corridor is still just getting going, and already one of its anchors is setting its sights on another corner of the neighborhood, Bryant near 15th. Eater SF reports:

Salumeria, the deli from the Central Kitchen and Flour + Water team, has signed a deal to open their second location there, in the lobby of the former Hamm’s brewery building. It’s a recently renovated mixed-use space that accommodates a number of offices, includingRdio and Asana, and will presumably provide a local lunch option for said offices in the otherwise industry- and chain-heavy corridor near the Potrero Center. And by “Mission and Valencia,” we mean the corner of Mission and Valencia. Burrito Justice reports:

[T]he SFPUC, the SF Planning Department, and the SF Department of Public Works are seeking input on green plazas at Valencia & Mission, and at Valencia and Duncan.
