As you may recall, back on May 13th three lovely ladies lost their home to a fire on Capp St. Tonight you can help them out by attending their fundraiser at Tope in North Beach. More details from their Facebook event page:

YesYesYes is a ripping new SF arts and culture magazine that is throwing a benefit show tonight at The Knockout at 9pm to raise funds to roll out their latest issue. The set list includes Lilac, Lemon Pretend, Tint, and Dj’s Lariq, and William Keihn, and sliding scale admission starts at $5 with all funds going to benefit the magazine. This is a great chance to check out some cool bands while supporting a new local publisher — they’ve already earned 75% of their Kickstarter goal and the deadline is this Saturday, so check it out if you can!

The closures we mapped out last week aren’t the only changes coming soon to Dolores Park. More improvements (and more closures) are in the works, and tomorrow evening you can get involved with the decision-making process:

Mission High School Cafeteria

On Thursday, June 2nd at 6:30, the community will gather for the first of a series of workshops to plan the renovation of Dolores Park.  Everyone is invited to participate.  At this first workshop, community members will brainstorm a wish list for park improvements and tour the park to create a shared analysis of what needs to be improved.

If you were in Union Square on May 21st and saw some bodies floating towards the heavens, it’s probably because local science rock band the Phenomenauts staged their own rapture there. Curious about what it takes to bring about the end times? Apparently it’s no easy task: nobody sells hydrogen on judgement day, it takes a lot of balloons can lift a blow-up doll, and you need a full-size bus.

True, most times he’ll just spout off leud or homophobic comments sung to the tune of Batman as you walk by.  And other times he’ll get so wasted on the sidewalk across the street from your house that he starts talking Tea Party nonsense, or he’ll climb inside Yoko-Ono’s window.  But sometimes, just sometimes, he offers you a pizza when you really need a pizza.
