Who else almost caught some serious air off this thing today?
I think. Or maybe it’s just a bunch of Dance Mission Theater folks being awesome:
Billy L., who captured this on video, says:
Stumbled upon this last night in Osage Alley as I was walking to the Attic. Half expected Keenen Ivory Wayans to walk out at the end. Pretty sure they’re from the Dance Mission Theater next door.
Do you love bacon in stuff? Of course you do! Well hey, guess what? Baconcamp is in the Mission this year!
Next Saturday afternoon, May 8th at Chez Poulet, you will be able to crowd around a small table with other wild-eyed baconnoisseurs and unapologetically shove folks out of the way to get at the salty goods prepared by local bacon experts. Or if you’re smart you can wait by the kitchen and snatch things off the trays as they are making their way across the room. Ah, this all brings me back to dinner at Cloyne Court Co-Op in Berkeley.
If you’re thinking about entering a bacon creation this year, be advised that bacon and eggs smiley face is old news and review the following categories:

The messenger-bag-PBR-can-storage arms race continues! Check out Rickshaw Bagworks‘ game-changing “Beerdolero” innovation, which combines space-saving strap storage and the highly-fashionable Mexican Revolutionary look. All of this comes at a cost though: none of this actually keeps your beverages cool.
There’s another catch: apparently, only five of these were made and they were given away a month ago as part of a St. Patty’s Day promotion. LAME.
Now, I know some of your Rickshaw folks read this here blog. How about another test run for the summer season?

Judging from this promotional video, Planet Booty is going to be putting on an epic show this Friday at the Blue Macaw. These self-produced ironic disco funksters were featured as one of Chicago Tribune’s 50 Worst Album Covers, with this masterpiece:
The Germick bros (who combine to form Germart) are a talented bunch of musicians, producers, and artists. I was lured in by the ridiculously cute girl working their booth at Alternative Press Expo a couple of years ago and they keep popping up on my radar. Nice hustle, guys!
More info on the show at Germart.
Did you just get laid off from that circus gig? Are you sick of not being able to eat soup without making a mess? Might be time for a beard trim. Head over to Chica Sexy today.

Hey what do Google, cheese, authentic consumer electronics, and now “fixed gear bicycles” have in common? They are all hard to come by in China.
Poor Nie Zheng (pictured) had to wait his entire life to complete his Mission hipster look:
‘It’s been a dream since I was a kid to get a bicycle like this,’ the 40-year-old fashion photographer told me. ‘But no one sold them here.’ It took nearly nine months, he said, to get a track bike he wanted sent from England in 2007.
Someone throw a benefit show for these guys, already.
